  • Origins

In 2018 BCMHSUS commissioned an environmental scan to identify best practices related to workforce capacity for the screening, assessment and treatment of concurrent disorders. This work ultimately culminated in 42 Competencies. An extensive review and refinement process involving internal and external stakeholders resulted in an updated CD competency framework and toolkit that launched in spring 2022. Suggested levels of competency by occupational role are provided as a guide and help learners benchmark their learning. The Learning Pathway accompanies the self-assessment and contains online course recommendations and self-directed activities. Learners can create and customize a plan and keep track of their progress.
